Edward Riche is a noted writer for the page, stage and screen. He is the author of four critically acclaimed novels and has scripted many hours of film and television, including three feature films. He has written six widely produced plays. He has written for The Globe and Mail, Macleans, The Walrus, and The Newfoundland Quarterly. He has received five Writers Guild of Canada Awards, the Actra National Radio Award, the Winterset and Thomas Raddall Prizes for Literature and an Atlantic Journalism Award. He was named the Newfoundland and Labrador Artist of the Year in 2004. In 2016 House of Anansi published his novel Today I Learned It Was You. His seventh play, Dedication, opens in November 2017 in St. John's.
